The soft glow of window light poured into the bedroom. The air was filled with a sense of quiet joy as Mom and Dad, nestled closely on the edge of the bed, soaked in the beauty of their growing family. In Dad's arms, the newest addition to their family, Baby W, lay peacefully. On the other side, Mom sat cradling their furry friend, Bo, a loyal companion who had been a part of their journey long before Baby W arrived. It was already a sweet moment between this family, but then, unexpectedly, Bo decided to shower Baby W with gentle kisses. This was such a heartwarming moment because it was the FIRST time the pup showed affection for his new baby brother. Mom and Dad exchanged surprised glances and laughter, their smiles growing wider by the second. They couldn’t believe their eyes! Bo hadn’t shown too much interest in his human brother quite yet, until this exact moment. He kept licking Baby W’s head over and over again. We were ALL smiling big watching this special moment unfold. I think it is safe to say Bo was pretty proud of himself, too. He seemed to bask in the glory of his newfound role as the protective older sibling.


I love this story because it is such a perfect example of why in-home newborn sessions are priceless. While there are so many benefits to doing your newborn session in the comfort of your own home, having your family pets be part of the session is a big reason! Your pets are an important part of your family. I have two dogs of my own, so I get that! Having your dogs make an appearance in your newborn session is so special. Plus, they love their newest sibling too! And showcasing that love is so sweet to capture. The story above perfectly showed just that. A boy and his dog: best friends in the making. But not only that, the moment also showed how much love is in this family. Mom and Dad care SO much about their sweet son and pup. You could feel the love in the air. Smiles never left their faces as they stared at their precious baby boy. And the happiness they felt in the moment between Bo and Baby W was clear to see. THIS is why newborn sessions are so valuable. I get to document the sweetest family memories for you to treasure forever.
