It was a beautiful fall day. The temperature was perfect, with a slight breeze in the air that made everything feel calm and inviting. You couldn’t ask for a better wedding day. And then the venue. The Preserve at Canyon Lake is seriously one of the most amazing venues. Everywhere you turn, there’s another pretty spot. It was the perfect backdrop for this dreamy Halloween wedding. Their color palette of crisp whites paired with striking black accents created the most timeless, elegant mood. And the simple Halloween touches throughout the decor were just right for this memorable wedding date. But the most memorable and important part of this day was, of course, Lyzz and Dustin. 


Some wedding moments stay with you forever, and Lyzz and Dustin gave me one of those right from the start. As we were chatting on the wedding day, Lyzz told me a story from a couple of months before, explaining how Dustin was sure he wouldn’t cry when he saw her walk down the aisle. He was confident about it. But she laughed as she told me that he actually got tears in his eyes just thinking about her in her wedding dress on the day she found “the one.” And honestly, if the thought of her gown had him emotional, we all knew exactly what was coming when the doors opened. Sure enough, as the music played and Dustin turned around to see his stunning bride for the very first time, he completely lost it. His face softened and his eyes filled with tears. He had to wipe his eyes before he could even take her in fully. I don’t blame him for one second — Lyzz looked like a bridal model stepping straight out of a magazine spread. Soft, elegant, and absolutely glowing. You could feel the weight of their love in that moment. It was tender. Emotional. And so incredibly special to witness.


What made that moment feel even more special is how perfectly it captured who they are together. Lyzz and Dustin fell for each other fast, and they haven’t slowed down since. They’re that couple you only have to look at for sixty seconds to understand everything. The way they lean into each other, the way they laugh, the way their eyes soften when the other starts talking. They balance each other so naturally, bringing out all the best parts of the other. And on their wedding day, the joy was overflowing. They giggled through their vows, they laughed during portraits, and when the officiant announced them husband and wife, they both immediately cheered before even going in for their first kiss. They were just so ready, so excited to finally be married. And being there to capture their happiness felt like the biggest honor.


Lyzz and Dustin, thank you both for welcoming me into such a meaningful day with so much kindness. I truly felt like a friend celebrating right alongside you, and that is something I will always cherish. Your happiness, your energy, and the way you cared for everyone around you made the entire day feel so special. I am incredibly grateful that I had the honor of capturing these moments for you. From your engagement session to your wedding day, it has been such a joy to watch your love story unfold, and I know without a doubt that you will build the most beautiful life together.
