Sometimes, the best sessions start with a little bit of adventure – and Laura and Amaan’s engagement shoot was exactly that! What began as a day full of unexpected twists turned into one of the most beautiful evenings at Gabriel’s Overlook Park in Georgetown. The weather had been predicted to be cold and very windy, but just before their session, the clouds disappeared, the bright sun came out, and the wind calmed to a gentle breeze. Creating the perfect atmosphere. On top of that, our original location ended up being closed, so we had to find a new spot quickly. We came across one neither of us had ever been to before – and it turned out to be absolutely perfect, matching Laura’s vision in every way.
As if the evening wasn’t already shaping up to be memorable, we had an unexpected guest join us the moment we arrived – a sweet little cat who wandered right up to say hello and decided to stick around for the entire session! It followed us from spot to spot, sneaking into a few photos and keeping us all entertained. It definitely added a unique and playful touch to the evening.
Something else unexpected was that Laura and Amaan had never taken professional photos before! I would have never guessed it. They were absolute naturals in front of the camera. Their love for each other was so effortless and easy to capture. Laura looked stunning in a pink floral dress that danced in the breeze, while Amaan kept it classic in a crisp button-down shirt. Every glance, every laugh, every moment between them felt so genuine and full of warmth.
A highlight from their session was when we got to "redo" their proposal. They didn’t have photos from the actual moment Amaan popped the question, so we recreated it – and let me tell you, it was pure magic. Another unforgettable moment was the perfect dip photo they created. Laura's dress flowed down, the rocks beautifully in the background, and the sun cast a golden glow over them – a true fairytale scene. Her sparkly ring-adorned hand rested gently on Amaan's face, adding an extra touch of magic to the moment. Everything about it was a chef's kiss moment.
By the end of the session, I was practically buzzing with excitement for their upcoming wedding. If their engagement session was this stunning, I can only imagine how incredible their wedding day will be. Stay tuned, because it’s bound to be a day to remember!
